Download clock work mod 11 for Tab P1000

While Samsung abandoned the development of its original Galaxy Tab P1000, folks at xda developers are still quite active and have been churning out amazing firmwares for it on a regular basis. Today clock work mod a k a CM11 has been made available for it. The Clock work mod 11 is well appreciated for those who like clutter free android experience.

For ART runtime you can add a file local.prop into data folder and add line dalvik.vm.dexopt-data-only=1 in the file: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show…16&postcount=2 Then you can also add this line into the file build.prop in your Rom.zip and flash then this rom. To install the ROM, first save your internal sd card on PC and remove your external sd card. If you has TWRP: flash a CwM kernel and then reboot to CWM. Make sure to create a nandroid backup.

If you are on clock work mod 10.2, Wipe data/factory reset (optional, but highly recommended!).
If you do not want to do data wipe, select “wipe cache and wipe dalvik”. Format boot, format system and then flash CM11. Flash Gapps and reboot. If your Rom is set reboot to CWM, then backup and restore -> advanced restore -> restore data and reboot.

Download CM12 for Samsung Galaxy Tab S

If you are fond of non bloated Android experience, getting clock work mod 12 a k a CM12 on your Samsung Galaxy Tab S would be the best bet. CM12 is almost bug free on the Tab S but we have been told that Camera is not functioning so if you use that a lot, do not install it.

To flash CM12 on the Samsung Galaxy Tab S, first download and install CWM recovery from here. While we feel TWRP for Tab S will work fine, the developer insists in installing CWM before flashing CM12.

After installing CWM, get the CM12 from here and copy it to the root directory of Tab S’ SD card. Open CWM by pressing and holding the power and volume down buttons simultaneously for few seconds to go into the download mode. Do a factory reset from here before flashing the CM12 ROM. Then again go into download mode by pressing same set of buttons as before and browse for the clock work mod 12 file that you copied earlier.  Flash it.

Keep in mind that first boot after install can leave your device at a black screen for up to 5 minutes. So be patient.

Galaxy Tab S Overclocking and Underclocking guide

Samsung Galaxy Tab S can be underclocked and overclocked thanks to the active community at XDA. You can overclock the default clock speed to maximum frequency of 2100 MHz (stock is 1900MHz) and underclock it to 200 MHZ.

CPU max frequency of A15 cores is 2100 MHz (stock/default = 1900 MHz) and CPU min frequency A7 cores is 200 MHz (stock/default = 500 MHz). Multi-core power saving control is present (sched_mc_power_savings) and so is the power-efficient Workqueues control. A15 big & A7 LITTLE Cores time in state as well.

Galaxy Tab 3 kernel for Jelly bean and kitkat firmware allows CPU overclocking

A new Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 kernel has popped up on XDA that allows you to modify clock speeds of the processor. This kernel features specifically to allow TricksterMod to have full access to the controls. Ability to control clock speed allow you to overclock or under your Samsung Galaxy Tab 3.

Galaxy Tab 3 kernel for Jelly bean and kitkat firmware allows CPU overclocking

– In order to utilize the OTG and MHL functions, you will need to add an additional hub or MHL port to your OTG cable. Again, this is not the forum for asking how to do this – use Google and XDA as resources on how to build. Chances are, if you don’t know how to do this, then you should not be using this function anyway.

– OTG Charging requires you connect the device to an AC Samsung Charger (OEM, the one that came with device) or a DC Charger that provides 5V, 2+ amp output. Connecting to another charger without this output will limit the functionality of the charging feature.

– I HIGHLY Suggest using an external powered hub to connect additional USB devices (Memory Sticks, Keyboards, Mouse, Bluetooth, Modem, Etc).

Here are the installation instructions:

1) Reboot Into Recovery (TWRP Recommended)
2) Create Nandroid/Backup
3) Wipe Cache/Davik
4) Install Kernel [kitkat] [jellybean]
5) Reboot (First boot after flash may take a little longer – Kernel is building additional file structure and adding features)
6) Enjoy

ROAR: This is a step up and includes a slight bump for L2 with a slightly higher L2 in frequencies 2.3-2.41 GHz. (Most tablets should handle this fine.)
RAGE: This is BeastMode in its current form with a heavy bump for L2 as well as bus with the highest bump in frequencies 2.3-2.41 GHz.

How to view SWF files on your Samsung Galaxy Tab

Few years back when Android made its debut into the mobile operating system market, one of its strongest points was the ability run SWF files natively. But when Android v4.1 made its debut then suddenly Adobe dropped the support and people were no longer able to view SWF files on their Android devices including the Samsung Galaxy Tab.

CM11 ported to Galaxy Tab Pro 12.2 SM-T900

It took Cyanogen mod guys some time to bring it to the SM-T900 but it is finally here. The cm-11 ROM is very snappy and responsive, there is no reason not to use it as a daily driver. Before flashing it’s recommended to update to TWRP 2.8.0.0.

Note:

– IR blaster problem apparently solved with Bonuzzz’s new kernel, non-verified
– Lid sensor – solved with Bonuzzz’s new kernel, verified.

The boot image will stay idle for a couple of minutes at start-up, just be patient, once the cm logo is seen it will run smooth. Xposed Framework might need re-initialization after each boot, which is common for all CyanogenMod ROM’s.

This is an AOKP ROM, why you also need to install gapps (set of packages – full, mini, micro, nano, pico).
