So you just upgraded your Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 to Android 4.1 jelly bean operating system but now, you have lost root access and want it back. Luckily, Chainfire has come up with a way to do that. Before following the below given steps, make sure to backup all of your data. Also, check if your tablet has 80 percent or more battery left. Enable USB debugging too by going into settings on your Tab 2 7.0. Here are the steps on how to root P3100/P3113.
1: Download the CF-Auto-Root package chainfire’s website (link). Extract it to get .tar file. Download Odin 3.07 (link) and extract it as well. Run ODIN with administrator permissions.
2: Put your device into Download Mode (VOLUME DOWN and POWER buttons together). Press Vol down button again to enter into download mode.
3: Connect it to your PC. Make sure you are running latest version of kies (otherwise drivers won’t install).
4: Check Auto Reboot and F. Reset Time options in ODIN app.
5: Click PDA and browse for the CF-Auto-Root-espressorf-espressorfxx-gtp3100.tar.md5 file you extracted in Step 1.
6: Click on START button to commence the rooting process.
You can disconnect when the process has completed. If you running ICS, here is the guide to do it – Galaxy tab 2 7.0 ICS root.
