Download the file and flash it using ODIN. To flash, put your Galaxy Tab S2 in download mode. For this press the power and volume down buttons for few seconds and then, connect it to the computer.

Start ODIN on your computer and click on AP button. Then select the file downloaded earlier. Ensure you have disabled auto reboot, f.reset time and repartition. Now click on the Start button to commence flashing process.

Installation instructions

Backup all important stuff. We need to format the device.

Wipe -> Advanced Wipe:

Dalvic
System
Data
Wipe -> Format Data -> Type yes to confirm
This is the most important step! It will keep some space for the footer! Without that encryption is not possible. If you do not perform this step, you will get this error.
E/Cryptfs (  105): Orig filesystem overlaps crypto footer region.  Cannot encrypt in place.
Flash Rom
Reboot
Set a Pin for Lockscreen
Encrypt your device.

Android 5 Lollipop is now available for Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 P3110 and P3100 variants thanks to the hard working cyanogen mod team that released CM12 for Galaxy Tab 2. For those who do not know CM is based on AOSP project which takes contributions from myriad talented people. While Samsung abandoned the Galaxy Tab 7.7 users, folks at XDA have been churning out quality ROMs for this android tablet from quite sometime now. You can now have android lollipop on Galaxy Tab 7.7 by installing this firmware.

You can download the ROM from here and install it using ODIN. Make sure you have TWRP for Galaxy Tab 7.7 pre installed as only then you will be able to flash custom ROMs on your tablet.

This ROM is based on cyanogen mod 12.1 which is basically android 5.1.1 but without gapps. To get those install this package in recovery. The ROM is not rooted and to get root, simply flash SuperSU-24x.zip in recovery. I have installed this on my Samsung tablet and everything is working as it should. The developer notes that he has not tested mobile date for the i815 version but data is definitely working in p6800 3G version.

Well it is not out now but an XDA user has made a pretty stable ROM that gets the job done. Download Lollipop Android 5.1 for P1000 Galaxy Tab

While Samsung stopped churning out Android updates for the original Galaxy Tab P1000 tablet, XDA has been actively releasing ROMs for it. The latest one brings Android 5.1 Lollipop update to it.

Here are the installation instructions on how to download and flash Android 5.1 lollipop on the P1000.

First download the ROM from here and put it onto the external SD card of P1000. Then go into custom recovery of P1000 and flash the ROM from there. The ROM has no gapp but can be easily flashed from here.

This ROM is made by Omni team which is behind many great firmwares for different devices including Galaxy Tab P1000.

It has been a while since Samsung released official Android 5.0 ROM for the Galaxy Tab S and today one of the XDA members released Android 5.1 for the SM-T805 Tab S. All download links are given at the bottom of this post. It shall be noted that this is not the official Android 5.1 ROM for the Samsung Galaxy Tab S. It is still in the making but we are sure it will be released in fourth quarter of 2015.

Galaxy Tab S Android 5.1: Flashing instructions:

1. Full wipe

4. flash gapps
5. boot

It works for both SM-T800 and SM-T805 variants and is based on Cyanogen Mod for Tab S. While it is still a work in progress, it is good enough for daily use. We will keep on updating the ROM as the developer churns out improved versions of the Android 5.1 ROM.

If you get “External SD card not recognised” error, it means you have to reformat the micro SD card to NTFS format. If you get “your device has an internal error contact your manufacturer”, just ignore it.

T800 T700 Disable Software and Enable Navigation Bar on Galaxy Tab S

Did you know that it is possible to disable the softkeys and enable Navigation bar like the one present in Nexus tablets? This has to be done in such a way that you must enable navigation bar first and then disable the Samsung softkeys.

This method also requires you to have root on Tab S tablet and file manager with root manager. I recommend using Solid Explorer.

To Enable NavBar:
In root file manager:
open "/system/build.prop"
add this line at the bottom of the file
qemu.hw.mainkeys=0
Reboot to ensure the Navbar is enabled before moving on

To Disable Softkeys:
In root file manager:
open "system/usr/keylaout/Generic.kl"

The Generic.kl contains all the key mapping. Search for the following keys (158 and 254) and comment them out with a # symbol. They will be looking like this: 

# key 158  BACK
# key 254  APP_SWITCH

Then using the solid explorer, open open "system/usr/keylaout/gpio-keys.kl". Commet the 172 line with # symbol. It should be looking like this. 

# key 172  HOME         WAKE

Now let us disable the softkey backlight. To do this, go Settings > Display > Advanced (section) > Touch key light duration > Always off
